Taka Sukunami (宿南 魏 Sukunami Taka) is the reincarnation of the second Suzaku Celestial Warrior, Tamahome. While they are one person, there are still subtle differences, like the fact that Taka is much less addicted to money than Tamahome is. In the end of OVA 1, a glimpse of him showed that he is a waiter.
Similar in appearance, however, Taka takes Tamahome's part in the 2nd OVA (where he was slightly interrupted) and the 3rd OVA, where he gets married with Miaka.
Appearance[]
As the reincarnation of Tamahome, Taka appears identical to him in the same hairstyle being short hair but the color of his hair is black instead of teal, fair skin and gray eyes.
As a contrast to Tamahome who worn various Chinese apparels, Taka wears a variety of modern outfits which he worn at the real world. When he works as a waiter, he wears a white short sleeved button shirt which is partially opened to see his silver chained necklace with a rounded bead pendant, black formal pants and black shoes. When he and Miaka got transported back in the book and finding the seven jewels of memories to restore Taka's memories as Tamahome where he retrieves three of the jewels, he wore a blue long sleeved v-neck sweater with a medium blue long sleeved button-up shirt, khaki jeans with a brown belt around his waist and yellow sneakers with red designs.
When rescues Miaka from Ren, gaining the fourth jewel from Nuriko's older brother, Rouko, he wears a gold vest with a white long sleeved loose button shirt underneath, brown jeans and black loafers. Although when he helps either Tasuki or Chichiri, the sleeves of his button shirt being folded into cuffs.
When confronting his original self which is created by Tenkou, he has the same build as Tamahome being slender and lean and wears blue jeans with light blue folded sleeves. Later, when Miaka reunites with him, leading them both to get intimate at his apartment, he wears a red jacket with a white v-neck loose shirt with gold linings along with the same blue jeans and light brown shoes.
When battling his original self after binding Miaka from its strings until she shields him from the latter's powerful chi while he managed to regain the three remaining jewels and releasing the original mark on his forehead by fusion, Taka now wears a white long sleeved collared button shirt, black formal slacks, white socks and dark brown loafers.
In Eikoden, Taka's skin appearing fairly tan due to the digital color graphics. When he marries Miaka, he wore a black formal suit. Following his marriage and to visit his wife Miaka at the hospital, he wears a casual attire similar to Tamahome's main appearance in the first OVA, a pale blue denim blazer with a black short sleeved loose shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He later wears this at the end of the OVA which is now colored to yellow and dark gray but retaining his pants and sneakers.
When he returns back on the book along with Tasuki and Chichiri due to the passage of time, reuniting with Mayo, and battling the fake Suzaku once he was reunited with the other Suzaku warriors and aiding both his wife and Mayo to defeat it, he wears a Chinese apparel like Tamahome's but in a shades of purple. He wears a light purple Chinese tunic with purple and yellow linings and a single red hangul with orange outlines at the right of his tunic. The tunic itself was long that reaches through his legs and was tied around with an orange belt with ribbons hanging loose and the folded sleeves and the edge of his tunic being purple. Beneath his outfit, is a white long sleeve collared shirt, dark red pants and black Chinese flats. He also keeps Hotohori's holy sword during their search for the reincarnated Suzaku warriors.
Biography[]
OVA 1[]
After Tamahome gave back the ring to Miaka. Yui wished to seal the book away already. Yui told Miaka to drop the ring back to Tamahome before they go back to their own world. Then Tamahome asked for help to Taiitsukun. The only way for him to see Miaka is to reincarnate in the other world using the Jewels of Memory. However, all the memories of him as Tamahome will be taken by the jewels.
Later on, in the end of the OVA 1, a glimpse of Tamahome as a waiter was shown. It was shown that it was fate why they will meet again.

OVA 2[]
In OVA 2, Taka is in a relationship with Miaka for 8 months. Miaka told him all about the book and his past. However, Taka doesn't remember them all. But he believes that he is destined to meet Miaka because it's what his heart says.
In the school, a young boy name Ren controls Miaka's schoolmate and lured Miaka and Taka into trap. When Miaka was thrown down the rooftop, Taka jumps to save her and a red light appeared which made them go back inside the book. Miaka tells Taka that this is where they met. The only way to get Taka's memories is to find the Jewel of Memories or else, Taka will disappear.

OVA 3[]
Taka/Tamahome was married to Miaka. However, Mayo who has been in love to Taka for a long time entered the book and Miaka fainted and the baby disappeared in Miaka's womb. Keisuke told Taka everything, so Taka went back to the book to save Mayo.

Trivia[]
- Taka means "high, large" (魏). His surname, Sukunami, means "inn" (宿) (suku) and "south" (南) (nami).
- The Sukunamis are a family of four, including Taka and his younger sister. The family also owns and operates a dojo.
